I’ve been in the health field for 32 years and have had
countless conversations with people suffering from practically every condition
under the sun.
Although their individual situations are unique, there are
some common themes that I see time and again…and far and away the one that
stands out the most is people’s mistaken perception of what disease really is.
Specifically, the average person think that disease is
something you “catch” or something that just pops out of nowhere, jumps up and
bites you in the derriere.
Let me assure you that nothing could be farther from
the truth.
Instead disease is created
by a very distinct process…and that process starts with STRESS.
The domino effect of
stress
Every symptom is
produced by either mechanical, chemical or emotional stress that is either too
strong or continues on too long for your body to be able to effectively
compensate for it.
And every disease
is merely your normal bodily functions going either too slow, too fast or
firing off at the wrong time.
When you understand this then you come to realize that
there’s another very important aspect to health care and counteracting illness that
is commonly overlooked.
You see, the focus of modern medicine is primarily symptom-oriented. You go to the doctor, you report one or more
symptoms, you get your diagnosis and then are given symptom-oriented treatment
(usually prescription drugs).
Although you may feel relief of your symptoms, many times the underlying bodily stress and/or
bodily functions going out of whack remain untouched. Sadly, at times this can mean an overall
worsening of the condition and possibly even another condition developing.
This is not a criticism of modern medicine, because without
it we’d be deep-sixed pretty quickly!
But in order for many diseases to truly be eradicated and/or
prevented, it’s essential to look at not only the symptoms but the underlying stresses that were responsible for the
symptoms to begin with, as well as the disturbed bodily processes that aren’t

From symptoms to
diagnosis--the 5 stages of disease
Stage 1: The acute
phase
In stage 1, your body is stressed in some way. You might be under emotional stress, getting
exposed to toxins in the environment, eating junk food, drinking too much
alcohol, not getting enough sleep or a combination of those.
Your immune system
is likely compromised, and you might get sick--a cold, flu or infection of some
type.
Stage 1 symptoms tend to be of high intensity and short
duration, such as an upset stomach, sore throat, fever, nasal congestion or
headache for a few days.
During this stage it's crucial to provide immune
support with things like rest, vitamin C, antioxidants, probiotics and

Stage 2: The
sub-acute phase

Stage 3: The
chronic phase
The effects of an unresolved sub-acute condition may go
deeper into your body, further weaken your immune system and progress into a chronic condition.
In the chronic stage, inflammation begins popping up, and
your tissues, organs and bodily systems actually begin to degenerate.
Although chronic symptoms may be less intense than sub-acute
symptoms, they're usually present most or all of the time. Since inflammation is seeping deeper into

Stage 5: This
disabling phase
